ReceiptInbox
Every receipt app in this category asks a self-employed person to review a year of expenses one at a time, which is why the shoebox stays in the truck until April. ReceiptInbox is a compressor: it groups near-identical records — the same normalised vendor, the same suggested Schedule C line, the same business-use band — and turns 412 expenses into 19 decisions, one of which can settle forty-seven receipts at once. The hero figure is not a balance, it is a countdown of work remaining, computed as decisions left × this person's own trailing median seconds per decision, so the two-minute promise is measured rather than claimed. One colour rule runs through every screen: mint means a person confirmed it, and nothing the app guessed is ever mint. Every suggestion is a dashed slate chip carrying the word Suggested and the evidence behind it — you filed Home Depot as Supplies 12 times out of 12 — and is excluded from every total until confirmed, which is how a records tool suggests a Schedule C line without ever appearing to rule on one. It runs no category model: the only evidence is this person's own prior decisions for this exact vendor. Receipt photographs are read into text and discarded in the same request, because the words are what the published guidance on adequate records actually asks for. Mileage is typed, in three numbers, and valued at the rate published for the period the trip falls in — 2026 changed mid-year, so a January drive and an August drive are not worth the same. The readiness meter counts what the person confirmed, never whether it is right, and says so on screen. No deduction-value figure, no tax-owed estimate, no audit-risk score. The plain expense export is free forever, and an expense recorded past the free cap is saved and held, never refused.

Privacy Policy

Effective September 25, 2026

Tina Mugford ("we", "us") operates the ReceiptInbox mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use any third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Camera & photo library

Where the App offers it, you can record a clip with the camera or choose an existing clip or photo from your library. Access is requested only at the moment you choose one of those actions, and iOS asks you to confirm it — you can decline, or change it later in Settings, and the rest of the App keeps working. The clip or photo stays on your device: the App does not upload it, does not keep a copy on our servers, and does not read, scan, or index the rest of your library. Because iOS records audio together with video, a recorded clip may contain audio; that audio is never used, transmitted, or stored. If you then ask for an analysis, only the single still frame you select is transmitted for that analysis, and it is discarded once the result comes back — only the resulting text is saved to your account.

Reminders & notifications

If you turn on reminders, the App schedules them as local notifications on your device from the reminder settings you choose (such as lead times, reminder time, and quiet hours). These notifications are generated on your device from data already stored in your account — we do not operate a push-notification server, and your reminder content is not transmitted to us in order to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

How we use information

To provide and maintain the App, authenticate you, sync your content to your account, and respond to support requests. We do not use your content for advertising.

Storage, security & processors

Your data is stored with our cloud backend (Supabase), isolated per user with row-level security so that only you can access your own data, and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). A copy of your data is also cached on your device so the App stays fast and works offline; removing the App, or clearing its data, deletes that local copy. We share data only with the limited service providers needed to run the App — our cloud hosting and authentication provider, our AI processing provider, and Apple (for any purchases). To confirm whether a purchase is active we use RevenueCat, which receives an app user identifier (a random one before you sign in, and your account's internal ID after — never your name or email), the purchase details Apple provides, and basic device information such as platform, operating-system version, and country. We do not sell your personal information.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International users

Our service providers may process and store information on servers in the United States or other countries, whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live, under the terms of those providers.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account). Deletion removes your account and content from our systems.

Records of purchases are kept by Apple, and subscription status by RevenueCat, under their own policies, because they are needed for billing, entitlement, and tax purposes. Deleting your account does not delete those records, and it does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in your Apple ID settings.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data using the in-app controls, or by contacting us at [email protected].

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Most of this you can do with the in-app controls; for anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law.

These pages

These Privacy, Terms, and Support pages are static: they set no cookies and load no analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to serve the pages securely and diagnose faults. If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and help you.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date above.
